Juba League man’s eye gouged out

FENI: Miscreants gouged out left eye of a leader of Juba Legaue, the youth wing of ruling Awami League, in Sonagazi upazila of the district early Saturday.

The victim is Mahmudul Haque Bobi, 34, president of Juba League unit of Sadar Union’s ward no. 3.

Quoting family sources, Sadar UP Chairman Shamsul Arefin said Bobi came out of home at night after receiving a phone call. Later, miscreants picked up him and cut the tendon of his two legs and gauged out left eye at around 3:00am, leaving him injured critically.

Hearing his scream, locals rushed to the spot and sent him to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

Sonagazi thana officer-in-charge Subhash Chandra Pal said he came to know about the matter and legal steps would be taken after filing complaints.
