Arsonists set fire to a staff bus of Agrani Bank at Taltala of Dhaka's Khilgaon area on Wednesday (December 6) morning on the first day of the 48-hour blockade enforced by BNP and its allies.

Shahjahan Sikder, deputy assistant director of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters (media cell) confirmed the matter.

The arsonists set the stationary bus on fire at 8:30 am at Taltola, he added. 

On information, two units of Khilgaon Fire Station reached the spot under police protection and extinguished the fire, said the fire service official. 

The 10th spell of a 48-hour countrywide blockade called by the BNP and its allies, demanding the government’s resignation before the next general election started today (December 6). 

The blockade will end at 6:00am on Friday.
