Four people were arrested along with 6.956 kilograms of gold at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport early Saturday.

The arrested were identified as Md Ali Hossain, Jasim Uddin, 47, Litu Miah, 39, and Mohammad Jummon Khan.

Airport Armed Police Battalion (APBn), National Security Intelligence (NSI) and Dhaka Customs House jointly conducted drives and arrested them.

APBn additional superintendent of police Mohammad Ziaul Haque confirmed the matter on Saturday evening.

Passenger Md Ali arrived from Dubai on board US Bangla Airlines at 5am on Saturday and passengers Jasim, Litu and Jummon landed in Dhaka on board Emirates Airlines at 11pm yesterday, he said.

They were handed over the airport police station.
