Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan has said people including businessmen need Sheikh Hasina as Prime Minister in the future also as her leadership reflects her extensive experience in governing the country.

He said: "The only alternative to Sheikh Hasina is Sheikh Hasina.... people from all over the country stay with Sheikh Hasina for this reason."

Bashundhara Group Chairman was addressing a Business Summit held in the capital today (July 15).

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the apex trade organization of the country, has organized a conference titled 'Business Conference on Building Smart Bangladesh' at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC).

The business leaders informed about their possibilities and problems to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who joined the conference as the Chief guest.

Recognizing the role of businessmen in the country's development, Sobhan assured the Prime Minister of their unwavering support. He acknowledged the mandate given to the Prime Minister by the business community, stating that the backbone of the country lies in the hands of these entrepreneurs. 

PM Sheikh Hasina's focus on rural development and the implementation of various allowances and initiatives to uplift the rural economy, benefiting millions of people, he said.

Underscoring the need for a peaceful environment that fosters economic growth, Ahmed Akbar Sobhan expressed concerns about the return of strikes and blockades.

He urged the Prime Minister to discourage disruptive political activities that harm public life and stressed that economic development should be the primary objective of politics and emphasized the importance of protecting people's vehicles and improving their economic conditions.

Highlighting the significance of tax contributions, he suggested that more emphasis should be placed on tax collection, with the participation of the government, people, and businessmen. He also raised concerns about the potential revival of a caretaker government system, mentioning the past injustices and imprisonment faced by businessmen during the 1/11 regime. 

Ahmed Akbar Sobhan called for unity among businessmen to resist any attempts to reinstate such a government.

Addressing the conspiracies and challenges faced by the country, he urged the business community to work hand in hand with the directions of the Prime Minister. He also stressed the importance of democracy and economic development, and how Bangladesh's strength lies in its people. 

Ahmed Akbar Sobhan praised Sheikh Hasina's leadership in strengthening international relations and positioning Bangladesh as a focal point for global attention.

Reiterating the unanimous support of the business community for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he expressed gratitude for her exceptional leadership and highlighted the necessity of her continued service to the country. 

Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan assured that the people and businessmen always stay united with Sheikh Hasina and would pray for her long life and success.
