Sitakunda Zila detective police arrested five people for their alleged involvement in smuggling rare kind Chameleons on Monday (June 6). 

They were arrested from King of Kumira Convention Hall on Dhaka-Chattogram highway.

The arrestees are - Nilchan Sheikh, 26, Md Ali Akbar Sheikh, 30, Imam Sheikh, 22, Md Jahangir Alam, 47, and Md Muktar Hosen, 45.

Additional police super (Industrial area and DB) Asaduzzan confirmed the matter.

He said tipped off, a special team of police conducted a drive and arrested them along with seven Chameleons.

Chameleons were handed over to Chattogram Directorate of Wildlife Conservation, also a case has been filed against them, he added.
