A person was killed and at least five others were injured when a freight-laden truck overturned in Chattogram's Mirsharai upazila on Friday (June 2).

The deceased were identified as truck driver Md Minhaz Uddin, 26, son of Syed Noor of Sabujpara area of Pekua upazila of Cox's Bazar.

The identity of the injured could not be ascertained immediately.

The accident occurred around 5:30 pm when the truck driver lost control of the overloaded vehicle.

Deputy Inspector of Zorarganj Highway Police Station Mahfuzur Rahman confirmed the matter.

Police recovered the bodies and seized the truck, the police officer said,
