Two passengers were killed and 30 others injured in a road accident in Jhalakathi on Friday (March 24).

The deceased are—Supervisor of the bus Mehedi Hasan, 45, and a passenger Parvez, 35. The identities of other injured could not be known immediately.  

The accident occurred when a Patharghata-bound BRTC bus hit a roadside electric pole after bus driver lost control over the steering this morning, leaving two dead on the spot and 30 others injured. 

However, fire service men rescued the injured and took them to nearby hospitals.

Officer-in-Charge of Rajapur Police Station Pulak Chandra Roy confirmed the matter.
