At least 15 people were injured after clashes erupted between Daffodil International University students and locals in Savar's Ashulia union on Monday (Mar 13) night.

Three of the injured students have been admitted to the Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar.

The incident took place at around 8pm on Monday in Ashulia's Gauripur and Kumkumari area.

Later, police arrived at the spot and brought the situation under control.

Seeking anonymity, students of Daffodil International University said that the clash started when a Daffodil International University student locked into an altercation with the locals following a collision between his motorcycle and a Leguna in Gauripur's Bottola area.

Savar Model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Deepak Chandra Saha said the situation came under control on Monday night.

People from both sides including our members were injured in this incident, he added.

Shafiq Mridha organizing secretary of Ashulia Thana Swachhasevak League claimed that over 200 shops were vandalised by the students.
