A Khulna court today (Feb 9) sentenced a man to life imprisonment for killing his wife in Khulna. 

Khulna Metropolitan Sessions Judge Judge Mahmuda Khatun delivered the verdict convicting husband Omar Farooq, son of Rustum Ali Farazi of Khanjhan Ali Khulna.

On July 17, 2018, Omar's father-in-law found his daughter Nupur dead in the garden adjacent to his house. Later, he filed a case against Omar with Khulna police in this connection.

However, Omar confessed to police in the primary interrogation of killing his wife. The investigation officer SI Sumangal Kumar Das of the case filed a charge sheet in the court on December 19.
