Customs officials arrested a man with 120 gold bars weighing 14 kg at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

The arrestee was identified as Md Harunur Rashid, 39, bus driver of a private airline.

The incident happened at 11:00 pm on Thursday (Feb 2) near Gate No. 21 of the airport.

According to customs sources, acting on a tip-off, they conducted the search operation and recovered the gold bars, which were being smuggled from Dubai.

The estimated value of the recovered gold worth is Tk 13.50 crore, said customs sources.
