Independent candidate Ashraful Alam alias Hero Alom was defeated in the by-elections of Bogura-4 (Kahalu-Nandigram) and Bogra-6 (Sadar) constituencies.

After counting the votes, returning officer and Bogura Deputy Commissioner Saiful Islam confirmed this on Wednesday (February 1) evening.

Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASAD) leader Rezaul Karim Tansen secured 20,437 votes. 

However, Hero Alam got 19486 votes.

Earlier, the voting started from 8:30 AM in Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and continued till 4:30 pm.
