A person was killed and 11 others were injured after two passenger buses collided in Bagerhat on Wednesday (Jan 25).

The deceased was identified as Md. Rubel, son of Shahidul Islam of Udanpara area of Lalpur Upazila of Natore.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Reza of Katakhali Highway Police Station confirmed the matter.

According to him, the two passenger buses collided in the state-owned Pukurpar area of the Khulna-Mawa highway, leaving 12 people injured.

When the injured were taken to the nearer hospital, on-duty doctor declared one dead, he also said.

Police seized the busses, but drivers managed to flee the scene, the SI added.
