Students face untold sufferings

DHAKA: Due to the strike of transport in the capital, the students, appearing for JSC and DU, JnU admission and some job examinations, have been facing untold sufferings to reach their exam centers on Friday.

Transport owners and workers called the strike protesting the killing of Khairul Molla, general secretary of Demra Bus owners’ association and organizing secretary of Demra Thana Awami League.

On Thursday evening, four miscreants intercepted Khairul and stabbed him indiscriminately as soon as he came out of the Bangladesh Samabaya Bank Limited in the area around 6:30pm, leaving him injured critically.

Later, passersby rushed him to the Emergency Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where he succumbed to his injuries during a surgery.

Later transport owners and workers called for strike till 12:00pm Friday.
