Two people were killed after a stone-laden truck hit a stationary sand-laden truck in Ghoraghat upazila of Dinajpur early Monday (Nov 28).

The deceased were identified as truck driver Shilon Miah, 40, and his helper Saiful Islam, 22, hailed from Kushtia district.

Mozaffar Hossain, sub-inspector (SI) of Ghoraghat police station, confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

He said the stone-laden truck rammed into another sand-laden truck parked on Gaibandha intersection around 3:30am, leaving the helper of the stone-laden truck dead on spot. 

The driver succumbed to his injuries at Upazila Health Complex, the SI added.

The families of the victims have been informed, he said, adding legal steps will be taken then.
