A couple and their daughter were killed after a bus hit their motorcycle in Lakshipur Bildangi area at Rahimanpur union in Sadar upazila of Thakurgaon on Sunday morning (Nov 27).

The deceased were identified as Masudur Rahman (55), his wife Rahima Begum (45) and their daughter Meher Nigar Simi (14).

According to locals, the bus of ‘Hanif Enterprise’ hit the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction while the parents along with their daughter were going to an educational institution called Madrasatul Huda to participate in the examination in Lakshipur Bildangi area around 9am, leaving Rahima dead on the spot and her husband, daughter critically injured.

Thakurgaon Fire Service and Civil Defense station master Sarwar Hossain also confirmed the matter.

He said Masud and his daughter Nigar Simi were rescued by fire service members and admitted to Thakurgaon Modern Sadar Hospital where they succumbs to their injuries while undergoing treatment.

Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kamal Hossain said, "We went to the spot and the hospital after getting the information. No complaint has been received yet in this connection. Necessary action will be taken if complaints are received."
