Police today (Nov 24) recovered the body of an unidentified old man aged around 60 from a canal in Noakhali Sadar Upazila.

They recovered the body from the canal under Ashwadia Bridge in Ayubpur village of Ashwadia Union, Ward No. 3 of the upazila at 10:30 am.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sudharam police station Anwarul Islam confirmed the matter.

He said this morning, based on the information given by the locals members of police went, and recovered the body of the man from the canal. 

However, the recovered the body has been sent to the Noakhali General Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.

Legal action is being taken in this regard. Efforts are being made to identify the deceased, said the official.
