Readymade garment workers in Savar staged a demonstration in Dhaka today (Nov 15) protesting sexual harassment of female co-workers.

They formed a human chain under the banner of the National Garment Workers Federation in front of the Jatiya Press Club this noon.

According to their allegation, the admin manager of Chinese-owned Risingtex Fashion Limited in Ashulia of Savar sexually abuses the factory’s female workers.

The factory authorities did not take any steps against the official who later sexually harassed the female workers again on November 13, they added.

On the contrary, the factory authorities fired 32 workers, said the workers.

Now the workers formed the human chain demanding justice and reinstatement of jobs in the factory, said leaders of the National Garments Workers’ Federation
