A Rajshahi court sentenced a man to life imprisonment in a drug case 

The convict was identified as Sultan Ali, 50, son of Obaidul Haque.

The court also fined him Tk 20,000, in default, he has to suffer another six months of imprisonment.

State lawyer Asaduzzaman Mithu confirmed this matter.

He said a team of the Police Intelligence Branch (DB) conducted a drive in Kadamshahartala area of Godagari Upazila of Rajshahi and arrested Sultan along with 107 grams of heroin on December 8, 2014.

Later, a case was lodged against him under Narcotics Control Act, on which the judge passed the verdict on Tuesday, he added.
