Writ petition with HC seeking directives to ban hartal

DHAKA: A writ petition was filed with the High Court on Sunday seeking directives from the court to ban hartal during public examinations.

The plea was placed in the HC bench comprising Justice Kazi Rezaul Haque and Justice ABM Altaf Hossain.

Later, the court fixed Monday for hearing the petition, says petitioner Advocate Yunus Ali Akand.

Yunus Ali Akand told banglanews: “On May 2, 2012, the court issued a rule on the matter. Now, I filed a supplementary petition in this regard.”

Earlier, the Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations which were schedule to start from November 4 have been shifted to November 8 due to hartal.
