Russia-US discuss Iran, Syria, bilateral relations

DHAKA: Russian deputy foreign minister Sergei Ryabkov and US ambassador Michael McFaul met on Saturday to discuss a number of international and bilateral subjects.

The Russian foreign ministry reported, says The Voice of Russia.

Ryabkov and McFaul ‘touched upon some international issues, particularly the situation surrounding the Iranian nuclear programme in light of the outcomes of the Geneva round of P5+1’s negotiations with Iran. They also exchanged opinions on problems of chemical disarmament in Syria,’ the ministry said in a statement available on its website.

The two diplomats also discussed ‘issues of bilateral relations, with special emphasis placed on a number of their problematic aspects’, it said.
