US President Donald Trump has rejected a leaked intelligence assessment suggesting that recent American military strikes failed to significantly damage Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
Speaking on the sidelines of the NATO summit in The Hague, Trump insisted that Iran’s nuclear sites were “completely destroyed” in what he described as a “highly successful operation.”
His remarks come after a classified damage report from the Pentagon’s Defense Intelligence Agency was leaked, indicating that the strikes may have only delayed Iran’s nuclear programme by "a few months."
Steve Witkoff, the president’s special envoy to the Middle East, condemned the leak as "treasonous," saying it jeopardized national security and undermined ongoing diplomatic efforts.
Despite the tension, a ceasefire between Israel and Iran appears to be holding, with both sides publicly acknowledging the truce.
However, two major conflicts—Gaza and Ukraine—continue unabated. Both wars, inherited by Trump, remain unresolved despite earlier promises to bring them to an end.
