India gifts ambulance to Fatikchhari Health Complex

The Indian government has handed over a ‘life-support’ ambulance to the authorities of Fatikchhari Health Complex.

Indian Assistant High Commissioner Dr. Rajeev Ranjan handed over the key to the ambulance to Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari, MP of Chattagram-2 (Fatikchhari) on Tuesday (Jan 25).

The gift is a part of the programme to provide 109 life-support ambulances to Bangladesh, as announced by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Dhaka in March.

The ambulance, fitted with “modern, critical life-saving equipment”, can be used by paramedics and first responders to provide emergency care and trauma life support to patients en-route to hospital for treatment.

India has also provided medical equipment including PPE, testing kits and vaccine supplies apart from extending support for capacity building.
