Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has called on physicians to commit to providing accessible healthcare services for all citizens, emphasizing the need for dedication and reform in the sector.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural session of the Civil Surgeon Conference-2025, held at the Chief Adviser’s Office (CAO) today (May 12).
The CA underscored the significance of the event as this marks the first-ever Civil Surgeon Conference in Bangladesh, a milestone for the country's healthcare sector.
Addressing the gathering, Health and Family Welfare Adviser Nurjahan Begum also shared her insights, highlighting the importance of collective efforts in strengthening the healthcare system.
Professor Yunus expressed optimism about the sector’s potential for improvement, saying, "If we can commit to transforming this situation, I am confident that 25 percent of our healthcare services can improve using our existing medical equipment and facilities."
He further said that the launch of the Civil Surgeon Conference signals the beginning of a new era in Bangladesh’s health sector, fostering progressive thinking and a renewed commitment to service.
