Bangladesh records 5 new dengue cases in 24-hour

Hospitals in Bangladesh have recorded 5 new cases of dengue fever in 24 hours till 8 am today (April 8), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

A total two dengue patients was hospitalised in Dhaka city while three were admitted to different hospitals outside the capital city, the statement added.

This year, the total number of cases rose to 1,734 while 22 deaths from dengue disease were reported during the same period.

In the past 24 hours, four dengue patients were discharged from different hospitals. Among the total cases, 1,682 patients have already been released, the DGHS statement added.

Last year, the country recorded 1,705 dengue-related deaths and a total of 321,179 dengue cases.
