Korean embassy arranges musical event

DHAKA: “Charm of Korea”, a musical event organized by the Korean Embassy in Dhaka, was held in city on Friday aiming to celebrate the 40 years of diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Korea, says a press release.

The segment, which was held at Korean ambassador Lee Yun-young’s residence, was arranged respectively as part of a 2-day long Korean fest, inaugurated at the Shilpakala Academy on Thursday, added the release.

It also said the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Dhaka has been organizing a series of cultural events under the title “Charm of Korea”, the sixth installment of which was held in the night.

According to the news release, COREYAH, a well-known band of Korea, performed in the concert.

The six musicians of the group presented here a good number of tracks including some Bangla songs, in which the audiences loved the song “Ami Banglay Gann Gai” most.

Nevertheless, the Korean artists received warm receptions like the audience’s standing ovation after the song.

Korean envoy Lee Yun-young, after the program, said that the two countries may become closer in cultural affairs, further boosting bilateral friendship through the success of these musical events.

“The concert provided a good opportunity for Bangladesh people to taste and enjoy the performance of the international music,” the diplomat added.
