5 DU students suspended

DHAKA: Dhaka University (DU) authorities suspended five students for distributing leaflets and CDs of banned militant outfit Hizbut Tahrir in the classrooms.

They are — Sihab Uddin and Sayeedi Hasan Sajib of management department and Tariqul Islam, Nakib Farhan and Alamgir Hossain of accounting and information system department.

A press release of DU public relations office made the disclosure on Thursday.

They were punished under Proctorial Code 5 (2) after their activities were caught on close circuit camera of the faculty.
