COMILLA UNIVERSITY: Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Comilla University unit is observing an unidentified strike from Sunday morning demanding immediate release of BCL leader Elias Hossain Sabuj.

The BCL activists locked the main gate and academic building of the varsity around 9:00am. Later, they unlocked the academic building after teachers’ request.

University exam controller office sources said pre-scheduled exams could not be held due to the strike.

The vehicles, carrying university students, left the town but were obstructed to entry the campus. 

BCL president of Bangabandhu Hall unit (Elias supported) Reza-E-Elahi said the strike will be continued till their demand is met.

Earlier on Friday, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members detained Sabuj with arms from a picnic spot in Moinamoti Shalbon Bihar near the university around 11:00am.
