DHAKA: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Thursday announced that separate pay scale will be made for teachers increasing the volume of salary.

The minister came up with the declaration at a seminar on development of education in the national representatives’ meeting of teachers at the Teachers’ Training College auditorium in the capital this morning.

Swadhinata Shikkhok Parishad organized the program.

The minister said that development of the country and its nation is impossible if teachers leave the profession. The country will gradually retreat if they did not build new generation as knowledgeable person.

“It is our duty to stand by their side. Separate pay scale would be announced soon. The work is underway,” he told the audiences.

He also said the education system needs to be radically changed to make 5.5-crore students competent to lead the country in future.

A world-class education will be provided to the new generation aimed at building modern Bangladesh, Nahid opined.

Professor Abdul Mannan Chowdhury, also Convener of Swadhinata Shikkhok Parishad, presided over the seminar.

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique and organization’s Member Secretary Shahajhan Alam Saju also spoke the programme as special guests.
