PSC examinations begin Sunday

DHAKA: Primary School Certificate (PSC) examinations and equivalent Ebtedayee examinations are set to begin from Sunday with the participation of a total of 3,094,265 students.

Primary and mass education minister Mostafizur Rahman Fizar on Thursday told the media in a press conference at secretariat in the city.

Students of class five from all schools and madrasas will sit for the primary examination that will continue till November 30.

They will appear in six subjects and the examinations will start at 11:00am continue till 1:30pm simultaneously at 10,968 centers across the country.

Moreover, students of physically challenged will get extra 20 minutes for their examinations.

The minister also told the media that a total of 2,788,544 students will appear in the PSC examinations and the rest will be in Ebtedayee examinations.

A total of 1,282,079 students are male while 1,506,465 are female students in the PSC exam, he added.

In the Ebtedayee examinations, the number of male students is 157,448 and 148,273 are female students.

Earlier, the national steering committee for Primary and Ebtedayee examinations finalized the routine.

According to the routine, the English examination of PSC will be held on Sunday (November 23) while the Bangla on Monday (November 24), the Bangladesh & Bishya Parichay on Tuesday (November 25), the General Science on Wednesday (November 26), Religion & Moral Education on Thursday (November 27) and the Mathematics will be held on Sunday (November 30).

The English examination of Ebtedayee will also be held on Sunday (November 23) while the Bangla on Monday (November 24), the Paribesh Parichity Samaj/Biggan on Tuesday (November 25), the Arabic on Wednesday (November 26), Quran & Tajbid and Akaidh & Fikah on Thursday (November 27) and the Mathematics will be held on Sunday (November 30).

The PSC examinations started from 2009 while the Ebtedayee began in 2010.
