DHAKA: The government is taking the initiative for the creation of internet connection and own website for each school. Regarding the matter, the Ministry of Education will give directions to schools soon.

If any school has no own website, the school's recognition, accreditation renewal, registration will not be given.

As part the government’s announcement of implementing Digital Bangladesh, the initiative is going to be taken.

A senior officer of Education Ministry told banglanews that every school has to create own website and ensure internet connectivity by their own expenses.
The schools, which will not have internet connection and own websites, would not be given registration and recognition. So it will be in terms of renewal of registration. When permission sought for teaching and learning, the school will have its own computer lab.
Various ministries, departments, institutions-organizations have their own websites. Many ministries and departments are transferring files and document through online.
Ministry of Education said that the country has 1.30 lakh schools in different levels. If schools has own website; ministry, board and education department can exchange its orders and directives easily. It can reduce the waste of money and time.

Education Secretary Nazrul Islam Khan told banglanews that using technology in education can proceed further. If schools own the website, they can exchange information and upload examination marks through online.

Through it, sufferings and cost can be reduced. However, it is possible if everyone agrees, he added.
A model of the website will be created as if all the schools will be able to create similar website, said the education secretary.
However, for schools in remote areas where has no electricity connection, the website and internet connection will not be mandatory.
Currently, around 30 thousand schools have multimedia classrooms where the digital classes are being taken through computers, modems, projectors.
