Mills-industries to remain open in lockdown

The government decided to announce a seven-day lockdown shortly, but the mills and industries will remain out of the ambit of the lockdown.

The mills and industries will remain open to keep the cycle of economy unaffected, said state minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain, in a video message, on Saturday.

The ministry will issue a circular in this regard soon, he said.

The government is thinking to impose a one-week lockdown within two-three days to contain the spread of COVID-19, he added.

Every office and court will be closed during this lockdown but industries and mills will continue their operation on rotation, the minister said.

Meanwhile, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said the government is going to announce a seven-day lockdown from Monday following surge in Covid-19 infection cases.
