India provides dev assistance in Naogaon

NAOGAON: Deputy High Commissioner of India Sandeep Chakravorty and Sadhan Chandra Majumdar MP jointly inaugurated 400 deep tube-wells in Porsha, Sapahar & Niamatpur upazilas of the district on Monday.

Sujit Ghosh, Counsellor (Political and Information), R Masakui, Counsellor (Economic and Projects) and Sandip Mitra (Assistant High Commissioner of Rajshahi) were also present during this occasion.  

The project was supported by India as part of an initiative to implement Small Development Projects after a contract that was signed on October 9, 2013 in this connection with an implementation period of four months to benefit the people of Bangladesh.

The project that cost over Tk 2.69 crore will help in reducing the difficulties faced by the people in accessing safe drinking water in the three upazilas of Naogaon.
