21 SoEs asked to offload shares by Dec

DHAKA: The Ministry of Finance (MoF) Monday ordered to offload shares of 21 state owned enterprises (SoEs) by December.

The directive came from an inter-ministerial meeting with representatives of the SoEs at Finance Ministry.

Sources said the progress of share offloading was reviewed in the meeting and respective representatives stated their progress.

The SoEs include- Essential Drugs, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Hotel Ruposhi Bangla, Hotel Sonaogaon, Pragati Industries, teletalk, BTCL, DESCO, Bangladesh Gas Field, Gas Transmission Company Ltd, LP Gas etc.

MoF planned to offload shares of 26 SoEs in 2010. Later in 2012, the order was made to offload share of 21 SoEs.
