DU to take special exams at affiliated colleges

DU: The university authorities will take special exams if necessary for the reduction of sufferings of students and session jam at seven colleges which have been affiliated to Dhaka University (DU).

The information was revealed in a press release issued by the university on Monday (April 29).

The decision was taken in a meeting with the Dhaka University Vice Chancellor on April 28, after reviewing the demands of students of seven DU-affiliated government colleges, decentralization of the administrative works of the university, resolving session jam and overall academic activities.

Citing that administrative activities of seven colleges will be decentralized, the press release stated that any problems of the students' academic activities will be resolved through the principals of their own colleges. Regarding information about any application of the students, the principals will send the assigned desk (Dedicated Desk) of the university within 24 hours.

Students who have failed in maximum two subjects or number postponed will be eligible for admission in the next classes (Preliminary/Masters Final Part). However, before participating in the final examination of the respective class, the failure subjects of the previous class must be passed. Students whose registration period has expired will be given special opportunity to participate in the relevant examination, it added.

The meeting has decided to form a committee consisting of seven college principals to make academic calendar and a viva board for each college to complete the viva voce in the fastest time.
