NOAKHALI:  President M Abdul Hamid urged students to pursue independent, ideology-based politics shunning dependency on parties or persons.

M Abdul Hamid said “Student politics should be ideology-based.” 

M Abdul Hamid was addressing the 2nd convocation of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) on Sunday afternoon (February 24).

President Hamid, also the chancellor of the university, stressed on extra-curricular activities and practice of free-thinking on the campus.

He suggested the authorities concerned to keep close watch on the students so that none can get involved in any anti-social activities, including extortion, terrorism, drug abuse and militancy.

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Convocation Speaker and Ekushey Award-Winner Social Scientist Prof Dr Anupam Sen and NSTU Vice-Chancellor Professor M Ahiduzzaman, among others, were present at the event.
