DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged students to pursue education which will uplift their standards of life, rather than theoretical knowledge.

The premier advised students during her inaugural speech of ‘7th March Building’ under Rokeka Hall, a female dormitory of Dhaka University.

Sheikh Hasina said, “Students ought to receive quality education in the similar fashion taught by our teachers. In the truest terms, education doesn’t mean education of books, rather education that upgrades standard of living.

“Special attention must be given to fact that common people are benefited from the education students receive,” she also said.

This 11-storied building cost Tk 88 crore.

DU vice chancellor Dr Akhtarujjman presided over the program while other distinguished personalities were present there
