4th subject marks excluded

DHAKA: Ministry of education excluded marks of 4th subjects in JSC Scholarship while amending its guideline. Besides, Madrasa students are also now eligible for that scholarship in class VIII through JDC.

Government is awarding meritorious students of class-VIII considering Junior School Certificate and Junior Dakhil Certificate examinations since 2010.

On March 13, the ministry, in its amended policy regarding the matter, declared that JSC and JDC scholarship will be given on the total Grade Point Average (GPA) which has been cancelled in the latest amendment, stated on Wednesday, which says marks of 4th subject will be excluded to select for scholarship.

A total number of 21,000 students get scholarship in general grade under JSC while the number of talent pool is 9,800.

On the other hand, 4000 students in general grade under JDC and 2,000 in talent pool.

However, talent pool scholarship winner will get TK. 300 per month and TK 225 per month in general grade.
