DHAKA: Former President and Jatiya Party (JP) chairman HM Ershad held a meeting with Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Harsh Vardhan Shringla.

The meeting was held from 5:00-6:00 pm at Ershad’s residence President Park in Dhaka on Tuesday (July 17).

JP Secretary General ABM Ruhul Amin Hawladar, Presidium member and Ershad’s press and political secretary Sunil Shuvo Roy and Indian High Commission first secretary (political) Rajesh Uikey were present at the meeting. 

Later Sunil Shuvo Roy told Banglanews that bilateral issues including boosting cooperation and trade between two countries have been discussed in the meeting. 

"There were also talks about the next general election. They (India) want to see a free, fair and acceptable election while we expressed identical opinions,” he added.
