CHATTOGRAM: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said no more 2001-like blueprint election, as BNP is dreaming of, will be held in country.

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, made the remarks after inspecting the construction works of Patia bypass road on Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar highway on Thursday noon (July 12).

When asked whether the government has any initiative to ensure a participatory general election, Quader said, “The Election Commission is responsible for taking any initiatives on the election. The commission will also ensure level-playing field after the schedule is announced. The government has nothing to do with the election except helping the commission when asked.”
