Govt wants to bring back Tarique in vengeance: Rizvi BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi speaking at the meeting

DHAKA: BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said the government in a revengeful motive wants to bring back BNP acting chairperson Tarique Rahman from London as it is considering him as a threat.

He made the claim while addressing as chief guest in an open discussion with youths in party’s Naya Paltan central office on Thursday noon (April 19).

The senior BNP leader said it in response of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s remarks on Tarique during her recent London visit.

Rizbi said, “In London, the PM was asked about the absence of democracy in Bangladesh but in response she said Tarique Rahman, who is also the son of BNP chief Khaleda Zia, will be brought back to home from there.”

The government is worried about the fact that despite all obstacles, Tarique Rahman is leading the party from abroad. The ruling AL leader is mulling for revenge.

Rizvi also claimed BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, who is now in jail after being convicted in a graft case, as the most popular leader of the country.
