DHAKA: BNP deferred its public rally in Dhaka a day after the announcement to hold the rally demanding unconditional release of their party chief Khaleda Zia.

BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said on Friday (March 2) that the rally has been deferred to March 12 following a party decision.

Publicity Secretary Shaheed Uddin Chowdhury Annie said that the decision has been made for a better preparation ahead of the rally.

Earlier on Thursday (March 1), BNP came up with an announcement to hold the rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on March 11.

Rizvi said they have already sent letters to authorities seeking permission for the venue.
