Movement till fascist government collapses: Fakhrul BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and other BNP leaders at Central Shaheed Minar

DHAKA: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir urged countrymen to unify for a mass movement to free democracy and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia from prison.

He also said that the movement will continue until the incumbent fascist government collapses.

The BNP leader made the remarks to reporters after paying tributes language movement martyrs at Central Shaheed Minar on Wednesday (February 21).

Fakhrul said, “The language movement of 1952 was the basis of our independence struggle. People of all walks of life participated in the independence movement that started on that very day.”

He also said that the people of this country are marking the day in a time when democracy is on the way to grave. All the democratic institutions have been destroyed and people’s rights, franchise have also been snatched away. There is no security of people’s lives.

“Country’s judiciary and even the parliament are in the grip of one party. BNP leader Khaleda has been put on jail because she dared to challenge them”, Fakhrul added.
