AL leader succumbs to injuries in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI: A local leader of the ruling Awami League died at the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) on Saturday (January 20), five days after he sustained injuries in a rival clash.

The deceased was identified as Muklesur Rahman, son of Azizul Haque of Baduria Paschimpara village under Yusufpur union of Charghat upazila in Rajshahi.

He succumbed to injuries at the hospital at noon.

Muklesur Rahman and three others were injured in infighting between the group of president of Yusufpur Union unit of the ruling party and the UP chairman Shafiul Alam Ratan and upazila Chhatra League leader Dulal Sarker.

The infighting took place on January 15 at the UP complex.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajpara Police Station Hafizur Rahman said that they will record case in this connection if the family members of the deceased come to file case.
