Hefajat to besiege US embassy on Dec 13 Hefajat threatens to besiege US embassy in Dhaka

DHAKA: Hefajat-e Islam, an Islamist pressure group of madrassah teachers and students, has announced to besiege the US embassy in Dhaka on Dec 13 to protest the US president Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

Hefajat-e Islam nayeb-e-ameer Nur Hossain Quashemi made the announcement in a protest rally in front of Dhaka’s Baitul Mukarram national mosque gate on Friday noon (Dec 8).

The Dhaka city unit of Hefajat-e Islam arranged the rally at the north gate of Baitul Mukarram mosque after Jummah prayer protesting the US recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. 

Earlier on Dec 6, US president Donald trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and ordered to relocate US embassy from Tel Aviv.
