DHAKA: Ailing veteran Awami League leader and former mayor of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury is being taken to Singapore for better treatment.

Mohiuddin’s Personal Assistant Osman Ghani told Banglanews that they will leave here for Singapore, on an air-ambulance at 4:00pm Thursday (November 16).  

His son and organizing secretary of Awami League Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel told Banglanews that some progress is marked in his father’s condition.

He will be flown to Singapore for improvised treatment, added Nowfel. 

However, the former CCC Mayor was earlier admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Square Hospitals in Dhaka’s Panthapath Sunday (November 11).

The 74-year old leader had long been suffering from ailments related to heart and kidneys.
