DHAKA: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), student wing of AL, does not need troublemakers, including criminals and infiltrators, as it is a traditional organization. 

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, made the remark while addressing Dhaka district unit BCL conference at Engineering Institute in city’s Ramna area on Wednesday (Nov 15).

He said BCL sometimes makes headlines of negative news that embarrass us all. Awami League or BCL can not take responsibility for the wrongdoings of few miscreants and infiltrators.

“A few misdeeds can not diminish Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina or AL government’s achievements. BCL does not need any marked terrorist, extortionist or fundamentalist.”

Quader also said BCL leaders must fix themselves and apologize to people for any previous misconduct. There is no shame in apologizing to countrymen.
