6 BNP men held in city

DHAKA: Six leaders and activists of BNP were detained for alleged ‘suspicious’ movements when party chairperson Khaleda Zia was on her way to court.

The six BNP leaders and activists were held from Circuit House Road area under Ramna Police Station on Thursday (October 19).   

Ramna Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kazi Mainul Islam told Banglanews that the six men seemed suspicious when they were riding on motorbikes.

After detention, police were interrogating them for their identities. 

Meanwhile BNP sources said that among the detainees, there were Jubo Dal's organizing secretary Mamun Hasan, Jubo Dal South president Rafiqul Alam Majnu, and South president of Sheccha Shebok Dal SM Jilani.
