DHAKA: BNP leader Barrister Moudud Ahmed claimed that the house in the capital’s Gulshan-2 which was earlier occupied by him is being demolished illegally on Sunday (June 25).

Moudud was speaking at a press briefing at around 11am.

Earlier, authorities of Rajuk (Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha) have started demolishing the house holding no.159 at Gulshan-2.

The demolition work began at around 9:00 in the morning, 18 days after Moudud’s eviction from the duplex house, said Gulshan Police station officer-in-charge (OC) Abu Bakar Siddiq.

The operation is being directed by Rajuk and Gulshan Police station, led by an executive magistrate of Rajuk, he said.

To keep the work unobstructed, tight security measures were taken in Gulshan-2.

Earlier, senior BNP leader Moudud Ahmed was evicted from the house on June 7 as his ownership of the house in Gulshan was declared illegal following a court order.
