‘Possible militant attacks to decrease if BNP joins polls’ Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader

NOAKHALI: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader opined that the possible militant attacks in the country will be reduced considerably if BNP participates in the polls of next parliamentary election.

He made the comment while talking to reporters after inaugurating a mosque at Kabirhat upazila in Noakhali on Friday noon (April 28).

Quader said there is no existence of international militant organization Islamic State (IS) in Bangladesh. Militancy aroused from the existing internal crisis and clash in political parties of the country.

“The ongoing threat of militancy is under control but yet to be eliminated from the root. The threat will decrease if BNP participates in the next general election by resolving about their inner party crises and political failures.” 

Ekramul Karim Chowdhury MP of Noakhali-4 constituency, President of Chittagong City Awami League and former mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury and district administration officials among others were also present at the event.
