DHAKA: Outgoing US Ambassador in Dhaka Marcia Bernicat sat in a meeting with Bangladesh Foreign Affairs Secretary M Shahidul Haque, at the latter’s office Wednesday (Sept 19).

They hold discussion about preparations for the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly, sources from the foreign ministry said.

The UN session will be held on 23-29 Sept.

US and Bangladesh are set to focus Rohingya crisis in the session, added the ministry sources. 

Bernicat earlier held another meeting with Shahidul on Sept 5 where she said her country will play a vital role to solve Rohingya problem.
